Half Marathon
Half Marathon of Vlieland is a run where 1,000 runners appear at the start. The run has a recreational format, but there is a fight for a fast time, with prizes attached.
It may therefore be called a real competition.
Route 21.1 km.
The runners start at Stortemelk, pass the soccer field and turn left along the shell path towards the Fortweg and right to the marina, from there in the direction of the village, through the Dorpsstraat, de Postweg, at the '3rd path' into the dunes to the Ankerplaats turn left to the woods, then the shell path along the row of dunes to the Posthuys and then back via the paved road (Postweg) into the Dorpsstraat to the finish at the Coupure on the Havenplein.
Route 10 km.
The runners start at camping Stortemelk, go past the soccer field left over the shell path towards the Fortweg and right to the marina, from there towards the village, through the Dorpsstraat, the Postweg, at the '3rd path' into the dune to the Ankerplaats. Then turn right towards the Badweg, through the Badweg past the cemetery via the Molenglop through the Dorpsstraat to the finish at the Coupure on the Havenplein.
Route 5.5 km.
The runners start at camping Stortemelk, go past the soccer field left over the shell path towards the Fortweg and right to the marina, from there towards the village, through the Dorpsstraat. At the end of the Dorpsstraat turn right via the Willem de Vlaminghweg, turn right at the cemetery via the Molenglop through the Dorpsstraat to the finish at the Coupure on the Havenplein.
